World-famous singer-songwriter Thomas Jacob, based in Los Angeles, is a highly successful yet emotionally volatile man who has left behind a trail of broken relationships. His life revolves around music, leaving little room for anything else. However, when Thomas returns to his native country of Denmark to record a new album, he is confronted with the consequences of his past actions.
During his stay in Denmark, Thomas reconnects with his estranged daughter, Julie, who he has not seen in years. Julie, a struggling musician herself, initially resents her father for his neglectful behavior. But as they spend time together, they gradually begin to heal old wounds and forge a new bond through their shared passion for music.
As Thomas's album recording progresses, he also becomes reacquainted with his former flame, Molly, a talented music producer. Molly, however, is now married and has a son. Their paths converge once again, bringing to light unresolved feelings and complicated dynamics.
