In Vi som överlevde Rågsved (2008), we follow the story of Michaela and her three brothers as they navigate the challenges of growing up in Rågsved during the 70s. Tragically, two of Michaela's brothers, Christer and Benny, succumb to the dangers of drugs at young ages. Despite the difficulties they face, Michaela's brother Dag managed to live until he was 43 before drugs took his life as well.
The film highlights the harsh realities of life in Rågsved during this tumultuous time, showing the impact of drug addiction on families and individuals in the community. However, amidst the darkness, there are those like Göte who manage to survive and thrive despite the odds stacked against them.
Through Michaela's perspective, we are given a glimpse into the resilience of those who have managed to overcome the challenges of their pasts. Vi som överlevde Rågsved is a powerful and poignant look at the strength and determination of those who have survived adversity.
