Den 13 november 2015 var attackerna i Paris och Saint-Denis, utförda av tre islamistiska kommandogrupper och revendikerade av IS, de dödligaste i Frankrike sedan andra världskrigets slut. Under de följande månaderna lanserades Programmet 13-Novembre av CNRS och Inserm för att studera hur det individuella och kollektiva minnet byggs upp kring en händelse som djupt har präglat det franska samhället.
