Details
In the future, mutants and their human allies are being hunted down and killed by powerful robots called Sentinels. Professor Xavier, Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, Kitty Pryde, and their team gather at a monastery in China. Xavier reveals that the Sentinels were created using DNA from Mystique, who was captured in 1973 when she attempted to assassinate Dr. Bolivar Trask, the creator of the robots.
Xavier suggests that their only hope is to travel back in time to 1973 and convince Mystique to change her plans. However, this dangerous mission can only be undertaken by Wolverine, as he possesses the ability to withstand the effects of time travel.
As Wolverine travels back in time, he reunites with a young Charles Xavier and a conflicted Erik Lehnsherr, also known as Magneto. Together, they must find Mystique and stop her from carrying out her assassination attempt, thereby altering the future and saving both mutants and humans from annihilation.
