Details
In the movie Wallander 16: Kuriren (2009), the story revolves around the mysterious death of drug-runner Erik Strah, whose body is discovered on a beach. Erik's death sparks anger from a dangerous drugs baron named Jovan Brankovic, who operates the drug racket through the Bloodhounds, a local motorcycle group. As the investigation unfolds, another member of the Bloodhounds named Hans Kolt is questioned by officers Svartman and Isabelle regarding suspected dog fights.
During the investigation, Svartman is attacked by a dog, and Isabelle faces a masked man who warns her against providing evidence. Isabelle contemplates leaving the police force, but Public Prosecutor Katarina convinces her to stay with the help of Wallander. Meanwhile, pathologist Nyberg, while searching for his senile mother, accidentally stumbles upon a disused church where the drugs gang holds their meetings.
As the story progresses, Johannes, another young biker, is forced to take over Erik's position, giving Wallander and his team an opportunity to follow him and ultimately apprehend the criminals during a raid at the church. The intense investigation leads to a thrilling climax where the villains are brought to justice.
