In the movie Wag the Dog (1997), the President of the United States finds himself embroiled in a scandal just days before the upcoming election. Realizing that his chances of re-election are slim, one of his advisors hatches a plan to create a war in Albania that the President can heroically put an end to, using the power of mass media.
