The Rite

Summary: The Rite follows the journey of Michael, a young man who joins a Seminary in an attempt to find his faith. However, he becomes overwhelmed by a strong lack of faith and questions his religious beliefs. One fateful day, he witnesses a young girl dying in a road accident and reluctantly performs a ritual to absolve her sins. This experience further shakes his beliefs. His mentor encourages him to go to Italy to attend an exorcism course in hopes of strengthening his faith.

In Italy, Michael attends a session by Father Xavier, who quickly notices his skepticism. Father Xavier sends him to an eminent Jesuit exorcist, Father Lucas. Father Lucas's methods, though questionable, prove to be effective. Michael witnesses an exorcism of a sixteen-year-old girl but still remains unconvinced. Father Lucas explains that multiple sessions are required to completely free a victim from the demon.

As the second exorcism takes place, the girl's condition worsens, and she is moved to a hospital where she eventually dies. The demon finds a new victim, and Michael realizes that he may be the last hope to fight and destroy the ominous forces. However, he must overcome his own doubts and fears to succeed.

The Rite is a gripping supernatural thriller that follows Michael's struggle to find faith and confront evil forces. In a race against time, he must find the strength within himself to battle the darkness and protect innocent lives.
