Keith Michaels, a once-successful Hollywood screenwriter, finds himself facing rejection after winning an Academy Award for his screenplay Paradise Misplaced. In desperate need of a breakthrough, Keith is forced to take a teaching job, something he despises. He is assigned to a small college located far from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, and this opportunity could potentially lead him to a new life.
As Keith reluctantly settles into his new role as a professor, he finds himself surrounded by quirky and eager students, each with their own personal struggles. Among them is student mother Holly, who becomes an unexpected source of inspiration and connection for Keith. Together, they navigate the challenges of career setbacks, personal growth, and second chances.
