Details
In The Last House on the Left, Emma, John, and their daughter Mari Collingwood head to their summer home near the lake. Mari decides to borrow the family car to meet her friend Paige who works in a nearby store. In the store, they meet a teen boy named Justin who offers them marijuana. They all go back to Justin's motel room to smoke.
Unbeknownst to them, the dangerous criminal Krug, along with his brother Francis and girlfriend Sadie, are on the run after escaping from police custody. They spot the girls and abduct them, forcing Mari to drive them away. However, Mari deliberately crashes the car into a tree, leading to a brutal attack and sexual assault by Krug.
Mari manages to escape and tries to swim away but is shot by Krug. Injured but still alive, she makes her way to her parents' isolated home and collapses. Krug, Francis, and Sadie, posing as car accident victims, are welcomed into the Collingwood's house. But Emma and John soon discover what has happened to their daughter and their fury and thirst for revenge gradually take over.
The Last House on the Left is a suspenseful and terrifying horror film that explores themes of revenge, brutality, and the lengths that parents will go to protect their children. It prompts viewers to question their own moral compass in the face of unthinkable acts of violence.
