In the movie The Book of Eli, set in a violent post-apocalyptic society, a mysterious drifter named Eli has been trekking westwards across North America for three decades. Surviving by hunting small animals and scavenging for supplies in ruined buildings and vehicles, he carries a precious book that he guards with his life. The book holds great significance to him, providing solace and purpose in his desolate existence.
Eli comes across a village ruled by the ruthless mobster Carnegie. Impressed by Eli's exceptional fighting skills, Carnegie offers him a position in his gang. Taking a special interest in Eli, Carnegie instructs his blind lover Claudia to send her daughter Solara to seduce him.
