Skjut inte på min kompis (Running Scared) is a thrilling 1986 action-comedy film about two streetwise cops, Danny and Ray, who find themselves in a life-threatening situation so close to death that their captain orders them to take a vacation. Seeking escape from the frozen streets of Chicago, they decide to quit the force and open a bar in Key West.
However, their plans take an unexpected turn when they discover that Julio, the vicious drug dealer responsible for their near-death experience, has made bail and is attempting to complete a massive drug deal. Determined to bring Julio to justice before they leave the force, Danny and Ray are faced with a moral dilemma. They must choose between their own safety and protecting the city they once swore to serve.
As they dive deeper into their investigation, Danny and Ray realize that they can no longer rely solely on their street smarts and reckless tactics. They must adapt and find a new, more careful approach. This newfound caution, however, hinders their effectiveness as cops, and they struggle to regain the edge they once had.
