In Pippi Långstrump på de sju haven (Pippi Longstocking and the Seven Seas, 1970), Tommy and Annika, two young children, get to spend time with their adventurous and unconventional friend, Pippi Longstocking, while their parents are away. Pippi lives in a colorful cottage called Villa Villekulla and brings excitement and imagination into their lives.
However, their peaceful time is interrupted when Pippi discovers a message in a bottle from her father, Captain Efraim Longstocking, who reveals that he has been captured by a gang of nefarious pirates, led by Blood-Svente and Jock the Knife. The pirates want to extract the secret location of Captain Longstocking's treasure and hold him prisoner in their castle on the island of Porto Piluse.
Determined to rescue her father, Pippi, Tommy, and Annika embark on an epic journey to Porto Piluse.
