In Masterminds, an entertaining crime comedy film, the audience is taken back to the Southern United States in the late 1990s, where an extraordinary bank heist is about to take place. Based on the infamous Loomis Fargo robbery of October 1997, the story revolves around David Ghantt, a security guard working for an armored car company.
David, played by Zach Galifianakis, leads a mundane life until he falls under the influence of his co-worker Kelly Campbell, portrayed by Kristen Wiig.
