Details

In the mid-1990s, two inmates at Mississippi's notorious Parchman Farm, Ray Gibson and Claude Banks, are tasked with burying the burned bodies of two fellow inmates. As they do so, an old-timer named Willie tells their story. Ray and Claude were wrongfully convicted and sentenced to serve 65 years for a murder they did not commit. They were framed by a corrupt local sheriff while buying moonshine whiskey for a New York club owner they owed money to.

Through a series of flashbacks, we witness the unlikely pairing of Ray, a charming con man, and Claude, a serious man about to begin working as a bank teller. We see the loss of Ray's cherished silver watch, a gift from his father, the murder they were accused of, and their unfair trial. We also witness the harsh realities and hardships they endure while serving time at Parchman Farm.

Throughout their ordeal, Claude and Ray's relationship is a complex mix of love and hate. They bicker and clash, but also rely on one another for support and survival in the brutal prison environment. As their friendship grows, they find solace and strength in each other.

Life is a compelling drama that explores themes of injustice, friendship, and resilience against adversity. It is a gripping tale of two men fighting to prove their innocence and survive against all odds.
