Kevin Can Wait is a comedy series that follows the life of Kevin, a retired police officer who expects to enjoy a carefree retirement with his family. However, he quickly realizes that his home life is more challenging than he ever imagined. Kevin had plans to spend quality time with his wife, Donna, and have exciting adventures with his retired police partner, Goody, his best friend, Duffy, and his firefighter brother, Kyle.
Unfortunately, Kevin's dream is shattered when he discovers that Donna has kept important family information from him while he was working. Their eldest daughter, Kendra, drops out of college to support her unemployed fiancé, Chale, as he works on his new app. Sara, their teenage daughter, struggles with anger-management issues, and their youngest, Jack, is a hypochondriac.
Now, instead of enjoying a relaxed retirement, Kevin must tackle the challenges of his own family. With his family as his new beat, Kevin realizes he has a lot of work to do.
