Details
In the movie I skottlinjen (1993), Frank Horrigan, a Secret Service agent, grapples with traumatic memories from November 22, 1963, when he failed to protect President Kennedy from an assassin. Now, Horrigan faces a new threat when former CIA assassin Mitch Leary starts targeting the current President, who is running for re-election. Leary has meticulously studied Horrigan and is intent on killing the President as an act of revenge against the government.
Motivated by his guilt and determination to not repeat history, Horrigan requests to be assigned to the President's protection detail, alongside fellow Secret Service agent Lilly Raines. However, the President's Chief of Staff, Harry Sargent, refuses to alter the President's schedule, putting Horrigan's plan in jeopardy. Despite the challenges, Horrigan is adamant about preventing the assassination and is prepared to sacrifice his own life for the President's safety.
As the election approaches, Horrigan's confidence wavers, especially after witnessing the death of his colleague, Al D'Andrea, at the hands of Leary. Doubtful of his abilities, Horrigan must confront his inner demons and find the strength to stop Leary before it's too late, potentially becoming the country's last line of defense.
