In the movie Highland Park (2013), a group of high school teachers forms a lotto pool and has been playing the same numbers for ten years. When they learn that budget cuts will result in the elimination of all their jobs, they decide to place their fate in their lucky numbers. The teachers hope that winning the lottery will provide them with a financial cushion in the face of losing their livelihoods.
