In the small town of Huntingburg, an armored truck carrying a whopping three million dollars finds itself stranded in the midst of a devastating flood. As Tom and his Uncle Charlie wait for the National Guard's arrival, a gang led by Jim attacks them, resulting in Charlie's untimely demise. Determined to protect the money, Tom flees with the bags and cleverly hides them in the local cemetery.
But his troubles are far from over. Jim and his gang relentlessly pursue him, forcing Tom to take refuge in a church. To his surprise, he is unexpectedly knocked out, only to wake up locked in a cell. The person behind his confinement is Karen, a restorer who mistook him for a looter and hit him in self-defense.
As Karen's actions set off a chain of events, Sheriff Mike Collins and his deputy, Wayne Bryce, begin investigating Tom's story. Meanwhile, Officer Phil escorts Karen out of the town by boat, but she cunningly escapes and takes shelter in the church with Tom.
With time running out, Tom must find a way to escape the flooded cell. Ultimately, he partners with Jim after discovering shocking revelations about Uncle Charlie's true nature. But when Tom realizes Sheriff Collins and his men have already gotten their hands on the hidden money, he teams up with Karen to expose the corrupt law enforcement and become witnesses against them.
