Enemy is a psychological thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve. The story revolves around Adam Bell, a history professor in Toronto, who becomes obsessed with finding his doppelgänger after spotting him in a bit part in a movie. The actor's stage name is Daniel Saint Claire, but his real name is Anthony Claire.
As Adam delves deeper into his search, he discovers that Anthony is a local actor with a limited number of credits and is married to a pregnant woman named Helen. The two men look identical, from their facial hair to a scar they both have, but Anthony seems more put together and successful compared to Adam's somber and routine existence.
The lives of Adam and Anthony become intertwined as Anthony also becomes obsessed with Adam, albeit in a different way. This obsession leads to a series of tense and mysterious encounters between the two men, blurring the lines between reality and imagination.
