In Dolphin Tale 2, it has been a few years since Sawyer Nelson and the team at Clearwater Marine Hospital successfully rescued Winter, a dolphin with a prosthetic tail. Unfortunately, Winter's surrogate mother, Panama, has passed away, leaving Winter alone in her pool. According to USDA regulations, Winter cannot be housed alone because dolphins require social interaction with other dolphins.
Dr. Clay Haskett and his team are now under pressure to find a suitable companion for Winter before they lose her to another aquarium. They are running out of time and must act quickly to ensure Winter's well-being.
