In the comedy film Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, White Goodman, the owner of Globo Gym, has been eyeing a takeover of Average Joe's Gymnasium, owned by Peter LaFleur. However, Peter is struggling to come up with $50,000 to save his gym from foreclosure. Determined to find a solution, Peter and his group of gym buddies brainstorm ideas to raise the money before it's too late.
In a stroke of inspiration, they decide to enter a dodgeball tournament and use the prize money to save their gym. Things take a turn when White Goodman catches wind of their plan and creates his own dodgeball team, intending to crush Peter and his team of underdogs.
Facing an uphill battle, Peter's team is initially no match for the experienced and ruthless players of Globo Gym. However, everything changes when they are unexpectedly joined by Patches O'Houlihan, a legendary dodgeball champion. Patches brings his unconventional and intense training methods to the team, turning them into a force to be reckoned with.
As the tournament progresses, Peter's team must overcome their own insecurities and form a united front against White Goodman's team. With Patches' guidance and their newfound determination, the Average Joe's Gymnasium team sets out to prove that they are more than just underdogs, but true champions in their own right.
