The story revolve around five couples of different generations. Their lives are woven together by coincidences but sometimes through very deliberate choices where the common driving force is the search for love.

After hiring Micke, a carpenter from Stockholm, to help renovate her kitchen, upper class Veronika develops immediate feelings for him. The two are keen to start a relationship, but their two children are less enthusiastic. Veronika decides a holiday to Bohuslan where her parents live is just what the couple needs.

A young man is searching for the woman of his dreams. In pursuit of love he sails out to a midsummer party in the seductive Swedish archipelago.

Average Swedish guy Sven, bored with his life, decides to go to Thailand to write a novel and "get away from the rat race". He meets a range of peculiar characters and learns a few things about love, friendship, and himself.
