The summer of '58 in Sweden was a significant one, as it was the year the country almost won the world championship in soccer against Brazil. In the movie Den bästa sommaren (2000), we follow the story of Yngve Johansson, who agrees to take in two children for the summer. The narrative is shown through the perspective of a young boy named Mårten. Alongside Mårten, the other child living with Yngve is Annika, a troubled and rebellious girl.
