In the animated film Asterix and Obelix: Mansion of the Gods (2014), the notorious Roman ruler Caesar devises a plan to eradicate the Gaulish village, which has proven resistant to Roman control for years. Determined to assimilate the villagers into Roman culture, Caesar decides to build an extravagant estate right beside their village to establish a new Roman colony.
Caesar's objective is to entice the Gauls with the lure of a luxurious Roman lifestyle, hoping they will abandon their resistance and become loyal Roman citizens. To assist him, Caesar assigns his loyal architect, Anglaigus, to oversee the construction of this grandiose project.
However, the Gaulish villagers, led by the indomitable warrior Asterix and his hefty companion Obelix, are not easily swayed. They view this as a nefarious plot to undermine their way of life and are determined to defy Caesar's plan.
As the construction progresses, Asterix and Obelix employ their cunning and boisterous wit to outsmart the Romans at every turn. With their unique powers and help from the wise village druid, Getafix, they embark on an adventurous journey to sabotage Caesar's scheme and preserve their cherished Gaulish traditions.
