Details
In the movie Heroes and Cowards (2019), Lea Anderson, a soldier in the British Special Forces, questions her career choice due to the secrecy, bloodshed, and lack of normalcy it entails. However, before leaving the military, Lea agrees to go on one final mission in the Middle East to ensure the safety of her team and stepbrother, Paul.
During the mission, their unit is unexpectedly ambushed by the terrorists they are supposed to eliminate. Lea and Paul are captured and faced with a life-or-death decision: one of them will be allowed to escape while the other will be killed. In a moment of weakness, Paul chooses to save himself, leaving Lea in the hands of the terrorists and facing imminent death.
Years later, Lea returns to the UK not as a former hostage but as a soldier seeking revenge against the establishment that shaped her into a highly trained soldier. Determined to make those responsible pay for their actions, Lea becomes an avenging angel, fighting against the system that turned her into a weapon.
